Siam Rath went to investigate after a Thai man featured on TikTok with an unusual haircut to offer blessings to compatriots of Chinese descent to mark Chinese New Year.

The cut featured Chinese characters and a lion being held up.

In Lat Phrao, Bangkok, they spoke to Chula dental department radiologist Maitree Jittinan who said that most people do their hair in the design of a dragon.

He wanted to be different so he had the idea of Chinese characters that mean happiness and the lion.

He said it didn't affect his job and people at the hospital loved it.
