bbi1
As an Australian passport holder, my understanding is that I will need to get an E-visa or a visa on arrival to visit Laos for a few days. I believe it is US$40 or 1,500 Thai baht. Does this have to be done online as an eVisa or can you get this as the border when taking the direct bus from Nong Khai to Vientianne? Does the bus stop at the border and all people who are non-Laos get off the bus at immigration and then everyone pays for a visa on arrival and get their passports stamped? Are two passport photos needed as well? I saw a site mention that it is needed. Edited February 5, 2023 by bbi1
Caldera
At the Nong Khai border specifically, you have the choice, you can get an eVisa in advance or you can apply for a visa on arrival there. Aussies do need a visa, either way.
