webfact 161300 Posted February 8 Share Posted February 8 Picture: Thai Rath Thai Rath reported that a marijuana shop in the old Phuket city had been ordered shut for 30 days after a gambling bust. On 19th January at 7.05 am police had arrested Ratchakrit and his group comprising 14 gamblers who had been playing poker for money at the shop. They all admitted the crime contravening 1959 gambling laws. It happened at the Hi Kush marijuana shop in Talat Yai, Muang district of the southern holiday island. Following an order from provincial governor Narong Wunsew, Muang district chief Phairoj Srilamun issued a closure order that was posted at the shop. The military are there to see the cops do their job and don't accept a pay-off. Fairly common to see military with cops at checkpoints around Chiang Mai.
