Pattaya — A woman parked her car beside the road and was crushed to death by a pickup truck while she was walking around her vehicle.

CCTV footage at the front of Lotus Express in the Nongprue sub-district of Banglamung district showed the victim, Ms. Bussara Pinijmontri Dawarker, 47, pulling over her sedan in front of the supermarket at about 5 PM on Wednesday.

The camera then captured Bussara exiting her car, and while she was walking around her vehicle, a white pickup truck suddenly emerged into the footage, crashed head-on into the victim, and ran over her.

rip. it looks like there are no speed limits in thailand

Tragic....

It shows that being a pedestrian around here is pretty dangerous too.....

I was walking not on the street yet, but I want to cross the street a truck backed over me. I fell down the people got out of the truck. I asked for help it looked around and nobody saw that they hit me. They jumped in the truck and took off fast. TIT.

There is one, flat-out.

This news was also on another thread.
The truck driver appeared to be drunk.

The driver only stayed because his wife was in the car.  He looked 'spaced out' because he had 'just taken his meds.'  This could result in a 500 baht fine.

The wife claimed that her husband tried to avoid a motorcycle that cut off her pickup.

Of course. In Thailand it is always someone else's fault. Always.

RIP, this is an example of why you need to keep your head on a swivel over here; be aware of what's going on around you. I see people wearing headphones while walking in the city and think I'll be reading about them next on this forum.

I would not call this an accident! At a minimum reckless driving/dangerous driving and of course man slaughter...... In a civilised country this would equal a few years in prison.

Good Story!
