Eddie45
Can anyone recommend a good place in Koh Samui to rent a motor bike from?
Tropicalevo
Motorbikes and scooters are as rare as hen's teeth at the moment. Almost impossible to rent one at short notice. What area are you staying in? A lot of bike shops tend to rent locally.
Eddie45
Will be going to Koh Tao to do some diving and then to Chaweng for a few days. Wanted the bike to explore the island.
Tropicalevo
I do not know bike rental places in Chaweng. However, I have a friend who stays at OP Bungalow every year for three months and they always fix him up with a scooter for his visits. Not the best scooter in the world but it does the job. As an aside - they have no availability until March. The island is busy. https://www.booking.com/hotel/th/op-bungalow.en-gb.html?aid=390156&label=duc511jc-1DCAso3QFCC29wLWJ1bmdhbG93SDNYA2jdAYgBAZgBCbgBF8gBD9gBA-gBAYgCAagCA7gCxvKinwbAAgHSAiQ3NDIzMWIwNy1lZWVjLTQyNTUtOWEwNi1lYmM3Nzc2YzJiYmbYAgTgAgE&sid=c72718a272b397ad44f90a0f1d839150&dist=0&keep_landing=1&sb_price_type=total&type=total&
phetphet
If you arrive Samui at Seatran Pier, turn left towards Big Buddha, about 50-100 yards turn right into the road to the airport. About 100 yards on the right is Pat Bikes (opposite Sunset Inn). Under five minutes walk from the Seatran Pier.

malasa
I was driving around the island today and saw plenty of motorbikes to rent in front of the shops early afternoon. That was different a few weeks ago so it seems to me that it is getting back to normal again and it should not be a problem to get one. But I didn't tried to get one, just what I saw and assume.
Eddie45
Thanks for the info. I know Samui was busy a few weeks ago and was hoping it would be less busy now so renting a bike would be easier.

Definitely more bikes available now. Prices might be a bit higher than before but they are levelling off.
