US federal investigators will not charge Florida Republican Congressman Matt Gaetz for sex-trafficking crimes, US media report.

His lawyers also released a statement that said the case had been dropped.

The two-year investigation tried to determine whether the congressman had crossed state or international borders to have sex with underage girls.

IMO there needs to be an investigation into justice department tardiness.

I hope he sues them for holding that over him for such a long time.

I hope that Gaetz does sue the DoJ, ‘Discovery’ would be very interesting, which is why Gaetz will almost certainly not sue the DoJ.

DOJ will only indict if they have airtight evidence. Apparently DOJ has insufficient evidence from Greenberg related probe. Looks like his wide ranging preemptive pardon for any crimes he committed before Trump left office will be not needed for this case. Doubt he will sue as the process of  discovery will be unpleasant for him.

Gaetz was reported to have sought a pardon from Trump for these potential charges.

 

 

Wingman Greenburg, and the underage (at the time Gaetz allegedly had relations with them) women, were probably not reliabe/believable witnesses, which is a must in a she said/he said scenario. Venom-ing cash to women is hardly illegal if you can't prove it was for sexual services.

 

 

Matt's dodged a lot of bullets over the years. His daddy pulls a lot of strings for junior.

I’m sure many in the criminal fraternity agree with you.

Especially those with the financial resources to be able to hire lawyers in order to delay investigations, challenge subpoenas is court and otherwise run out the clock.

Given the complexity of many criminal investigations, that is a ridiculous suggestion.
