Singha Park - worth a visit?

It's OK, it's free, or was.  Been a few years.

If in the area, worth popping in for a peek, maybe a munch.

For me (perhaps not everybody) the significant words above are:

"It's OK, it's free,"    &    "If in the area".

Add the Wat (white), and Big Buddha, along with Ban Dam(maybe) and it's an OK day out & about.

The 2 snaps with lake are Singha Park:

The wat is 12 kms, south of, before CR:

If craving a burger & beer munch, SanFran, use to be a small parking lot vendor, now a bit upscale and real brick & mortar.   Burgers were quite good, and had Beer Lao.

Gmap states 'closed', FB states 'see ya soon' Dec 26th 2022. So 'call first'

Singha park in CR has a nice restaurant, with pretty lovely view from the top of the hill. Mostly it's tea plantations from memory. There's also a "tour" with this big golf cart to see "yilaff"... that's giraffe to you... a small zoo where you can feed them. Also some gray observation tower that wasn't yet open when I was there, overlooking grass fields with some hills in the background... overall it was a nice stop for a couple of hours.

Another place (not on the tourist maps) to see giraffes, is SUKHOTHAI AIRPORT.

There are large open compounds next to the main terminal bldg with giraffes and zebras roaming around.
