Liquid Soul
Good morning, does anyone out there on TV no anything about registering trademarks in Thailand, it has been brought to my attention that someone else, somewhere else may be using my business name, and I wish to protect it, certainly within the Kingdom of Thailand at least, as where I live people can sometimes (read most of the time) copy ideas/concepts. Much thanks in advance
dominique355
In Thailand, as in most countries, it's a "First to file" principle. He who files his trademark application first, has the right to it. There are exceptions (International priority), and in some countries a trademark right can be secured by "First to use", but not here. My advice is to contact either a local Patent Attorney (PM me, if you need a recommendation), or try to contact the Thai Patent Office and ask for a search for your trademark. You might want to know that a trademark registration essentially protects you for a specific Class of products (or services) and does not cover any, totally unrelated goods or services.
