A grateful Russian couple lauded Pattaya Police after the officers were quickly able to retrieve a stolen purse for them. Two Thai men were arrested.

The officers on Friday, March 3rd, announced the arrest of two alleged thieves, Mr. Pitak Duangsawat, 23, and Mr. Peerayut Luang-in, 22. The two Thais were accused by a Russian woman, Mrs. Larisa Sobolevskaia, of snatching her purse while she was walking down Soi Naklua 18/1 in the Naklua sub-district of Banglamung district.

 

According to police, they recieved a theft report from Mrs. Larisa saying her purse was snatched by two men on motorbikes on March 1st around 8:30 PM. The woman had just left a convenience store and was heading to her hotel in Soi Naklua 18/1 when the two suspects approached her from behind, and one of them yanked her purse.

A lot of negative news this morning from another weekend in Pattaya.....beginning to think these music festivals and long weekends are a crime fest!

After the photo shoot the guy was arrested by the Fashion Police.

Personally I would be giving the robbers a Hero of Thailand award in this case ???? 

Pretty sure they could arrest more if they stopped these ridiculous photo opportunities and got on with their jobs

The golden paratrooper wings need to be used for something.... they look good in the photo ops. Warning to purse-snatchers everywhere... the police will "swoop" down and catch you....

Funnily enough, the phone came with a pink case. It belonged to a girl. Replaced that ‘tout de suite’..

Yep, you dunno when they bought it or the recent price in Russia. Oh, and prices are quoted in baht in these Thai news accounts so that people needn't look up the exchange rate themselves to get an idea of the value.

Why does it matter when they bought it? It might have been 35k when they bought it four years ago. But it’s not worth 35k now.

For all you know, they bought it 6 mos before leaving Russia, and it was 35k at the time, with the latest models priced even higher. Nor do you know what model it is, exactly, or what features it has. Here's one on Ebay for B47,697.12. Note that Ebay defaults to giving you the price in local (as determined by access location) currency, not, as you would expect, the price in the country of origin.

 

So they could well value it at 35k for themselves. The article isn't talking about "worth." It's talking price, and so were you--while trying to equate different contexts even in the absence of required info.

Yes, it was worth 35000 thb in 2019 and now its price around 20000 thb in Russia.
