A food delivery rider has been honoured by the Royal Thai Police for saving a child who had run into traffic.

According to a Coconuts report, 32 year old Lineman driver Peeraphong Chumphonwadee was about to ride off on his motorbike when he saw a child running into the street. It’s understood the unnamed boy was running to meet his father, who was on the central reservation.

In CCTV footage of the incident, the delivery rider can be seen dropping his bike and running to grab the child, scooping him up out of harm’s way. The incident happened in the district of Lam Luk Ka, in the central province of Pathum Thani, just north of Bangkok.

After Peeraphong’s girlfriend shared the CCTV footage, the clip quickly went viral, with netizens praising the delivery rider’s actions.

“Awesome, running without worrying about the car or any sense of danger.”

Meanwhile, while talking to reporters later, Peeraphong confessed that the food and drinks he’d just picked up were ruined when he dropped the bike. However, the restaurant agreed to remake the order for free to acknowledge the rider’s heroic actions.

The father's food was held safely in his hand as his kid ran towards him across a busy main road (silver linings).

Good parents don't let little kids run into a main road, thats not an accident it's carelessness. Just waiting for an 'accident' where we live they let 3 year olds run about the sois on their own, one will be hit sooner or later, and so avoidable.

I think it's the father who needs to be educated.  Preferably violently.
