Was recently at the new Bang Kwang prison cafe and restaurant in Thonon Nonthaburi. Prices we okay and the food was better than average. Close to the river with a decent view and the prisoners who could play music were strumming up and getting some harmonies going. plenty of outdoor and undercover tables and chairs.

 

They close at dusk so the lads can head back to lockup. But all in all I was happy to see some good opportunity for men to get some self esteem and get prepared to go back to the real world. Talking to a few lads, they both still had a couple of years to go on sentences but are happy for the opportunity to work in the cafe and restaurant. if you are in the area looking for a bite to eat, you could do worse and you would be helping get some guys get the opportunity to start doing some good with their life.
