Phuket enjoying boom in real estate sales with luxury villas, condos sold out

The Phuket Real Estate Association says the island province is enjoying a “golden year” for property sales, as condos and luxury villas are in the ‘boom’ phase of the island’s usual boom-bust cycle. The association’s president, Phattanan Phisutvimol, says property sales have been on the up since Covid-19 began to abate last year.

 

“This year will be the golden year for Phuket’s property market. The boom will continue.”

 

She says sales are now at pre-pandemic levels, with all completed condo and pool villa projects sold out, most of them to foreign buyers. She adds that last year, a total of 823 real estate projects, including hotels, were given the green light for construction to proceed.

would anybody would expect the president of the realtors saying something else..... condos maybe but villas?? how can a foreigner buy a villa since foreigners are not allowed to own the land where the villa is/has been built

Correction since Russia invaded Ukraine and Russians have moved in.

That's crazy ... Now , Phuket's overpopulation is hard to handle already , more and more of the same will only make things worse ... but some like it crowded ... I do not .

Maybe so, but what about the hundreds of properties that were abandoned during Covid and have been left to rot - including a few major projects in construction that remain at a virtual standstill and yet still with a staffed sales office out front?

A total of 823 new projects approved to be built upon an infrastructure that isn't capable of supporting current requirements. Not surprising.
