frantick 566
Go into connection settings on your phone. Open the Hotspot, give a name and password. Connect using wifi on the laptop.

CharlieH 43251
Open the internet connection on your phone. Then turn on "Hotspot" on your phone. You need to set up a password to connect to it. Go to your laptop. Open connections Look for your phone listed as a connection click on that and enter the passowrd you set up on your hotspot. Done.
scottiejohn 9239
Just be aware that it will be a heavy drain on your phone battery if you use it for any length of time.

In fact on an older battery you could find it still losing charge even though it is "charging". I agree that may not be the case with modern fast chargers and phones but it will not be good for your battery in the long term.
