Health Authorities have issued a health warning as a heat wave sweeps across much of the country, 
A leading doctor said outdoor workers are at risk of dehydration and heat exhaustion this month April which is expected to be the hottest month of the year, 


The Thai met office says temperatures could reach around 40 degrees in the shade in places today, while the temperature in the sun may top 50 degrees.


The advice is to stay in the shade,  avoid coffee and tea and drink plenty of water.

 

Anti-narcotics police have seized 19 million meth pills and arrested 15 suspects in drugs bust operations in the north and north-east during the last week.


The suspects are part of six drug trafficking networks, responsible for smuggling narcotics to central and the far south.

 

A court has issued an order to shut down the website, believed to be linked to a hacker who claims to be in possession of personal data belonging to 55 million people in Thailand. The minister of digital economy said he believes the hacker intended to either discredit the government or point out a loophole, rather than to make money out of the threat.

 

Residents in Kho Samui have approached the media to highlight a shortage of drinking water which has affected the island population for the last 4 months.


The local water authority has yet to resolve the problem, it’s feared the situation will have a negative
 impact  on hotels and tourism which was expected to see a sharp increase in visitors this year.

 

Around 1000 People from Myanmar fled across the Moei River into Thailand yesterday, as a military Junta outpost just across the border came under fire from  Karen rebels and associate forces and was burned down.


On the Thai side Gunfire could be heard as the Burmese junta dispatched helicopters to open fire on the rebels and forcing many villagers to flee into Thailand.

 

Police in Ayutthaya have been asked to investigate how around 1000 tons of hazardous waste was dumped on private land next to a river, samples of water from the river were tested and police were checking a local company that may have dumped the waste along with a previous offences.

Indonesia's foreign minister says progress has been made in discussions to resolve the situation in Myanmar.


Ms Retno said discussions involved new stakeholders that have not been engaged before, although she did not reveal who they are.


Hong Kong’s privacy watchdog has vowed to monitor the risk of personal data leaks from applications such as ChatGPT, as concerns mount after Italy banned the powerful application last week.

Chiang Mai and the north:  Sunny, hot at 39 degrees
The Air quality index is still red, purple and brown, air quality could be hazardous across much of the north. 
Bangkok:  Sunny,..partly cloudy  hot 37 degrees. 
Much the same in Pattaya and Phuket, with temperatures around 33 degrees                                                  and.. ‘Hua Hin’ : Sunny, partly cloudy 34 degrees.

 

The air quality index:  yellow to orange  - moderate
