Pattaya — Pattaya Police launched an impromptu inspection at Soi Six last night to prevent minors from working in or entering nightlife venues.

The officers were led by deputy police chief Pol Lt Col Surachet Aneksri who swept through Soi Six at 7:30 PM on April 6th.

 

Lt Col Surachet told The Pattaya News that the operation was intended to prevent individuals under the age of 18 from working in and entering entertainment venues, in order to protect them from harm.

 

“With schools closed for extended periods due to the Songkran festival and end of term, there may be a higher risk of underage individuals attempting to work in such establishments (bars and nightclubs),” Lt Col Surachet said. “Therefore, it is important for venues to strictly comply with laws and regulations related to underage employment.”

In other countries the road would be locked with gates, minors not even allowed to walk down. But here it's a "tourist attraction" and families push the strollers in the evening (like WS).

What a laughing stock. Those under 18 are coming from upcountry brothels where they serviced before seeking for better income options.

Isn't it strange they didn't report on the raid on Soi 6's Flirt Bar, owned by Night Wish Group, the night before in which the British manager and a Thai woman were arrested on suspicion of people trafficking.

How do they expect to find anything when they’ve already been told by the boss that there’s no prostitution in Pattaya?

I have another suggestion. Why don't they scan the bars for overage gals. That way they can maintain the aesthetic of the nation. There are alot more ugly, fat and old gals (UFO's) these days. 

 

Someone should tell them that they are too old for the trade.

Sadly, Pattaya seems to become the 'Florida' of Thai working girls...

Between scanning for underage workers and tourists with expired visa's, the BiB must be rushed off their feet, my heart goes out to them. If there were no tourists, we wouldn't have these problems in the first place. :))

It would definitely be just another overpriced and boring Southeast Asian nation. 

 

Lot's of Muslim dominated nations like Malaysia and Indonesia for tourists who like the mosques or are moraly challenged by beautiful women working at the oldest profession known to man.
