Alleged army hacker suspended from duty

The Royal Thai Army has already ordered the suspension from duty of Sgt-Maj (second class) Khemarat, an alleged hacker who claims to have gained access to the personal data of about 55 million Thai people. They are trying to trace his whereabouts.

Bus services increased to accommodate 100,000 passengers in next 48 hours

The state-run Transport Company has increased bus and passenger van trips to about 4,500 by making available an additional 700 vehicles to accommodate up to 100,000 passengers expected to use public transport today (Tuesday) and tomorrow for travel before the Songkran Day on Thursday.

Songkran Travelers Warned to Avoid Drinking and Driving

BANGKOK (NNT) - The Court of Justice has urged drivers to refrain from drinking before getting behind the wheel during the upcoming Songkran festival, in light of the increase in accidents caused by drunk driving over the past two years.

Market vendors are reporting a surge in plastic water gun sales as both Thais and tourists prepare themselves for the looming Songkran water battles, officially the first since pre-pandemic days (although last year there was plenty of unofficial Songkran water celebrations).

Two Phuket taxi drivers have licences suspended following brawl

Two Phuket taxi drivers who got into a physical fight over customers have had their licences suspended for 180 days. The drivers, who have been named as Chayakorn Chaitisuk and Noppadon Changlek got into an altercation on Patak Road in Karon last Thursday. The altercation included the brandishing of a tyre spanner as a weapon.

Police bust gang of thieves targetting foreigners in northeast Thailand

Police announced the results of their investigation into a gang of thieves targetting foreigners with families all over the Isaan region this afternoon in front of the Provincial Police Region 3 Headquarters in Nakhon Ratchasima province in northeast Thailand. Police seized stolen assets worth an accumulative three million baht.

The Cyber Crime Investigation Bureau arrested a Thai man at a shopping mall in the Sukhumvit neighbourhood of Bangkok yesterday after he allegedly drugged and swindled over 1 million baht from a woman. He was twice arrested on the same charge last year.

A Thai man driven by jealousy, set fire to the house of his wife in Nakhon Pathom province near Bangkok after she left him and travelled to another province with her family. The man also allegedly threatened to kill his family and carried a gun with him at all times.

Assets worth ฿31m seized from drug gang in multiple recent raids
