The army and police have been criticized over their failure to apprehend a soldier who claimed to have hacked into a database and obtained the personal data of 55 million Thai citizens.

 

A move forward part spokesman asked why had the suspect not been apprehended when an arrest warrant had already been issued and could some influential figures be involved.


He suggested the government should find solutions so this type of incident so it could not be repeated.


Some 1,700 people  in Chiang Mai took legal action against prime minister Prayut, the National Environmental Board  and the Securities and Exchange commission,


Claiming they failed to effectively deal with dense smog and devastating air pollution in the region, caused by fires burning on farmland and in forests.


60 individuals arrived at court to file the suit  A prominent medical doctor stated the elevated pollution levels have increased the likelihood of lung cancer, heart disease, and stroke, and have shortened the lifespans of those affected by 4-5 years.

 

A suspect who was with the police officer, who murdered his father-in-law and two other family members at their home in Surat Thani on Saturday, has been apprehended in Phang Nga. The police officer's wife, son, and brother were also killed in the incident.


The 57 year old told police he had escaped with the police sergeant and his son, the son was found dead in a car with his hands tied and a  bullet wound in the head on Sunday. The police sergeant is still on the run.

 

This Songkran holiday will see more than 14 thousand domestic  and international flights from now until 17th of April.

 

Thais and Laotians worked  together to build  a temporary bamboo bridge across the Hueang River to make it easier for people from both sides to cross over to celebrate Songkran.


The event was marked with a street parade and traditional celebrations.
