Authorities have confiscated assets worth some 2 billion baht from 31 individuals involved in an online gambling ring allegedly led by a police lieutenant colonel. However, investigators believe that this represents only a small fraction of the network's total assets.

 

The group is suspected to have been operating since 2016. In recent operations in Bangkok, three additional suspects were apprehended, Police seized 12 luxury vehicles, land titles, over a million baht in cash, bank records, and numerous mobile phones. Authorities are currently seeking five more individuals in connection with the case.


A police raid on a building in downtown Bangkok has resulted in the arrest of a  53 year old Chinese woman with Thai citizenship and a history of alleged involvement in fraud, human trafficking, surrogacy and document forgery, Earlier, Police searched the five-storey building where they found seven foreign nationals holding non-citizen identification cards, They also discovered rooms and equipment arranged for Thai women serving as surrogate mothers for Chinese clients.

 

The governor in Tak province along with soldiers, personnel from NGOs and the red cross have visited around 8,000 displaced people at shelters close to the Myanmar border, the authorities have been providing food and provisions for the refugees who fled during clashes between ethnic groups and the Myanmar military last week... 

 

The State Railway of Thailand has launched a free shuttle service between  Hua Lamphong Station to Grand Central station; the service will be available from 4.30 am until 11pm.

 

And the Songkran holiday rush has begun with heavy traffic on most main roads heading north and south.

The Malaysian government has confirmed it will proceed  with a plan to build an $8.5 billion dollar port to boost the handling capacity for both container and conventional cargo. The expansion comes at a time when facilities are being improved in neighboring countries. including Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam.

Phuket and the south , sunny becoming cloudy 32C                                                                                             and.. ‘Hua Hin’ : Sunny, some light cloud  34 degrees.
