Seven Deadly Days of Songkran Road Accident Update in Thailand

Police chief says no special favours for army NCO held in military prison and facing 5 years jail

Army sergeant major who works for the transport department of the military has not received bail and is being held in a military prison as the police pursue their investigation into his activities. He is already facing criminal charges under the 2007 Computer Crime Act for the illegal importation of data, disseminating false information and endangering national security.

Air pollution increases in upper northeastern regions of Thailand

According to the Pollution Control Department, 23 locations, primarily in the northern region of Thailand, have been found to contain high levels of particulate matter 2.5 micrometres or smaller in diameter (PM2.5). The most severe levels were identified in Chiang Mai. These concentrations are considered detrimental to human health.

Songkran in full swing as Thailand prepares to welcome back long-haul visitors in large numbers

Revellers in the Siom area of Bangkok this week as they continued to celebrate the Songkran holiday with spontaneous fun and water battles using colourful water guns.


Thailand is set to welcome over 1.5 million Russian visitors this year as the Ukraine war, in one respect at least, has proved a boon to foreign tourism in Thailand with over five hundred and ninety-one thousand visitors sent to April 5th last.

Thai Election Commission offers rewards for valid information of election fraud
