Naew Na Thai Caption: Ten wheel straw truck completely destroyed in fire

191 were contacted about a fire in a ten wheel truck carrying straw in Sao Rong Hai sub-district of Ang Thong, central Thailand yesterday, reported Naew Na.

Firemen tackled the blaze for 40 minutes but by the time they had it under control the Isuzu was destroyed.

Driver Chanachai, 29, from Kanchanaburi, was the "chauffeur" as the media referred to him.

He had just picked up 600 bales and was passing a roadside fire when sparks set fire to some bales.

He drove from side to side to try and dislodge the burning bales but that failed.

Then he tried to back into a klong to put the fire out.

That failed too as he watched his load and his truck go up in flames.

So the truck carries no extinguisher itself then?

BB you should be ashamed of yourself.

Maybe he shouldn’t drive through a fire burning on both sides of the road…

driving side to side generates more wind whipping the flames to other bales….brilliant

maybe next time he gets an upgrade to a gas tanker….

Typical Thai driver mentality. Sees flame on the back of his truck, his first reaction is to continue to drive and maneuver side to side trying to dislodge it. Who cares about the danger to other motorists. The thought of immediately pulling over and attempting to address it as safe as possible never entered his mind. Land of the knee jerk reactions.

And AR does not lose an opportunity to bash the land that gave him refuge after he failed in his home country and maybe even a partner and a love life. Talk about biting the hand ...

You maybe speaking of yourself. In my case it’s the opposite. They brought me here to raise their standards.

The truck is totally destroyed yet the first photo shows a great deal of straw that has been untouched. What are the odds of that?

My first thought was another smoker sets fire to the truck he is driving with

his careless habit of tossing his butts out the window. I wonder what he told his boss?

Who writes your headlines? It suggests that the straw was carrying the truck!

what kind of fire extinguisher could put out a truckload of burning straw? I drove Tow trucks for most of my life, fires are hard to put out, especially vehicle fires. Most of the time people would use up several fire extinguishers and the vehicle would still be a complete loss.
