A Jordanian man allegedly attacked the brother of a Thai singer, Kanyarat “Lula” Tatiyaporn, at a condominium in Thailand. The victim sustained a ruptured eardrum and multiple wounds all over his body.

Lula revealed details of the incident and provided an update on her brother’s condition to KhaoSod yesterday. She explained that the incident occurred on the evening of Saturday, March 25 while her brother was swimming in the condo’s pool. The name and location of the condo were not disclosed.

Lula explained that the attacker was a foreigner from Jordan who visited his family in Thailand. The man had a history of assaulting residents in the condo and is known for his terrible temper.

According to Lula, the Jordanian man was on the phone and walked into the pool area with his shoes on, even though it is prohibited by the condo’s rules. So, Lula’s brother pointed out that the man had to take off his shoes. The foreign man then hung up his phone and immediately punched the victim in the face.

So nothing was done before to prevent such a thing from re-occurring?

These attacks by tourists appear to be becoming more commonplace.

I wonder if it's related to the new demographics that the TAT appear to be trying to "lure" to Thailand? Or maybe it's just being reported more often...

does this Jordanian guy know a guy called Mustafa

Yeah , sure , the Thai guy only asked him to take his shoes of , more like  shouting in his face  , which is more than enough provocation to use violence for a Thai if the odds are in his favour ,  you know who my sister is

1. He is not on drugs.
2. He is not overstaying his visa.
3. He did not entered the country illegally.

So, "YES", he is allowed to conitnue his stay in Thailand.

Probably due to daily starvation and alcohol

Check the link.  It goes into more detail.  Including the response from police.

I'm guessing by this, and the response from police, his family is rich.

Don't attacks on tourists appear to be becoming more common also?

In what way is it relevant that the attacked person is "the brother of a Thai singer"? Was the Thai singer present, or was he the reason for the attack? (Perhaps, the Jordanian man didn't like the singing??)

Thank god, the brother's maid's uncle's wife's stepson's girlfriend, who, by the way, likes to sing too, was safe, as she, at the time, wasn't anywhere near the condominium...

Yes, but they don't make headlines anymore.

Followed by deportation with a ban on returning.

4. He will have a criminal record [unless he can pay the bribe fee],

So, "NO", he will get deported [unless he can pay the bribe fee].

Not that I've noticed, attacks on tourists have always been a staple of the Thai tourism trade. The difference (as I see it) seems to be that with the influx of tourists from the Middle East, China and Russia/Eastern Europe, the violence appears to now be in both directions.

1. My post was in answer to why he is allowed to stay in the country based on previous attacks.
2. It is not clear now if the attack was not because of a rude comment of the singer (self defense).
3. He is from a "rich and powerful" family, so the odds that he will get deported will be minimal.
