Which Pick Up

Recommended Posts

OK, to start the ball rolling, 2007 Ford New Ranger XLT 4x4 (4 door).

Nice drive, more car-like than the Isuzu that we had at the office (bl00dy tractor that was).

Stereo is a bit weak but plays mp3 disks so I can listen to Steve Wright (downloaded off the BBC the night before) on the way to work. It's less 'exciting' on the back than other pickups I've driven, so I suspect the rear suspension setup is aimed at the more 'car' usage that farangs tend to have, that said we've had half a ton of potting ground in the back which it handled just fine.

Buckets of torque from the nice 3 litre common rail diesel (5-speed manual box), goes well enough though the speed limiter comes in at 159kph (it just doesn't go any faster).

Reason for buying it (apart from I like the styling), primarily because it's not a Toyota (Wifeys descision, not mine), secondarily 4 years interest-free credit.
