Anybody know if there is a self-serve scanning place in CM? I know I can bring it to any number of net cafes, but I want to be able to play with the resolution, size, etc, for the best results.

Are you sure, you really do need that? Scanning won't improve much on the quality of the original, if that's what you have in mind. There might be situations where experimenting with scanner settings, could be the way to go - but I haven't been able to figure one out.

The sort of "usual" way to go would be just to scan the original with a 100% scaling at a resolution, one knows is as least as good as the original (or the scanners max if one doesn't know and has plenty of time and harddisk space).

After the scan has entered the computer, even the simplest graphic editors, nowadays, would have the proper tools for resizing, cropping, editing, resolution change. etc.
