Pattaya — A man tried to navigate his motorbike around a road construction detour on Threpprasit Road in Pattaya and fatally crashed his vehicle into a tour bus full of Chinese tourists.

Sawang Boriboon rescuers arrived at the accident scene at 10 PM on Monday, May 1st, to find a black Honda PCX motorbike that had slammed into the front of a tour bus.

The motorbike was stuck in the bus’s front. Its rider, Mr. Wissanu Kanngam, 28, was found in his bike wreckage with grievous injuries. Rescuers could not resuscitate him and pronounced him dead at the scene.

A priest happened to be in the area and prayed for the victim. Mr. Wissanu’s body was transported to Banglamung Hospital.

Very sad. I have not been near the area but I am sure someone can comment as to the road works and detours etc....

To me, he seems to have been going the wrong way….!

He was navigating around traffic me thinks.

Half way down Thepprasit the road changes from being one way on the left to two way on the left, with no signs or markings of the change. You are suddenly faced with cars coming straight at you !! I am surprised there hasn't been many more accidents, especially at night.

and the total disregard for their own life and those around them continues. a huge portion of all thai drivers should not be allowed to drive. they simply do not have the cognitive ability needed.

This road has been a mess of roadworks for many months. Very dangerous. The detours/lanes move around as the work locations move, and lanes are not properly marked.
