None of them could work out why the CD Player was duff......

I found out myself in the end.

It wouldn't play the crappy copies they sell in the Markets here!

A Pal brought me some goodies from UK and they play like a dream.......Hurrah!

I would think there's nothing wrong with the 'crappy copies', or your car CD player - not all players can playback CDR/CDRW discs, which is what they most probably are. Pressed originals will play on anything.
