BANGKOK (NNT) - A group of demonstrators recently staged a peaceful protest in front of Parliament House, urging senators to heed public opinion regarding the upcoming endorsement of the next prime minister.

 

The event, the first such protest since the election, was organized at 5:00 PM by a group called the Democratic Alliance, and concluded at 8:00 PM on Tuesday. It featured scholars sharing their perspectives from a stage set up specifically for them.

 

The protesters clarified that their intention was not to pressure Senators about the upcoming prime ministerial vote, but rather express their views and emphasize the importance of considering the voices of the people.

 

They further urged senators to side with the people through an open letter, with the protest leader questioning the legitimacy of senators who were not democratically elected from the start.

 

While the demonstration proceeded peacefully, security was stepped up as a precautionary measure, with four battalions comprising a total of 600 soldiers helping to maintain order. Tight security measures were also in place at the entrance of Parliament House, including inspections of vehicles and individuals.

 

The protesters said they would observe how senators respond before deciding on their next course of action.

How big was the group? Could they all hide behind that single board?

If you question the legitimacy of senators, why would anyone urge them to any action? Short of resigning their illigimate positions? Attempting a political negotiation just reinforces the unelected senators' power. 

These senators need to be declared enemies of the state.

 

They are essentially committing treason, at this point. A list of their names and photos needs to be circulated. The people need to call them and their children, siblings, and parents out at work, at school, at restaurants, and in public. Shame them into submission. Embarrass them to no end. Make them conscious of the incredible amount of damage and erosion to democracy they are causing, and let Cha Cha know we are not buying his "I will be cooperative, and honor the results" nonsense.

 

If these illigitimate clowns don't act like adults and cooperate, all bets are off. Their health, safety and welfare could be in jeopardy. The people will not tolerate it. 

 

Make their lives so uncomfortable they quit a year early. It just might work.

They never have, and I don’t expect them to start doing that any time soon. Most senators are there just for one reason: to get their snouts in the feeding trough.
