The Business Development Department (BDD) has explained that the status of iTV Public Company is “currently operational”, which has no legal definition, but means that it is a corporate entity which was registered in accordance with the Public Company Act.

Young student loses savings in iPad scam, Bangkok woman arrested

Police apprehended Nirisara, a 23 year old ‘money mule’ operating a scam that targeted a 16 year old student from Phichit, who lost her entire savings while trying to purchase an iPad for her studies. The Criminal Investigation Division officers, working closely with PCT Unit 5, arrested Nirisara in Bangkok’s Khlong Tan area after an intense investigation.

Pattaya theft: Thieves nab 13,000 baht from water vending machine

In Pattaya, two thieves successfully managed to nab 13,000 baht from a drinking water vending machine in front of a grocery store. The theft, which took place within the Nong Prue sub-district of Bang Lamung district, Chon Buri province, was caught on CCTV in the early hours of June 10. The suspects arrived at the scene on a motorbike, quickly opened the machine, and escaped with the money.

Thai sugar producer KSL faces 15% output drop, eyes low-GI product growth

Thailand’s third-largest sugar producer, Khon Kaen Sugar Industry (KSL), anticipates a decline of 10 to 15% in sugar cane output, down to 5 million tonnes, for its factories in the 2023 to 2024 crop year due to drought. In comparison, the 2022 to 2023 crop year yielded 6.4 million tonnes of sugar cane. Despite the reduction in sugar cane production, KSL remains optimistic about the industry’s future.

Old man posing as religious leader arrested for assaulting teen in Phuket

Officials apprehended a 60 year old man, Ismael Todting, who posed as a religious leader to deceive and assault a 16 year old girl in a Phuket hotel. He planned and lured the victim by gaining her trust before forcing himself on her and fleeing. Authorities tracked him down to Yala province, where he was participating in a group activity, eventually arresting him and handing him over for further legal proceedings.

Cyber police raided three homes in Thung Yai district, Nakhon Si Thammarat today, arresting three suspects involved in an illegal high-interest loan operation. According to the commander of the police, three suspects were apprehended along with mobile phones, bank account passbooks, record books, and documents detailing loan agreements with interest rates exceeding the legal limit of 15% per year.
