14-year-old boy commits suicide after attacking his grandfather with a knife

A 14-year-old boy has been found dead in the backyard of his grandfather’s house. He is believed to have committed suicide after attacking the old man with a knife, for refusing to give him money to buy cannabis.

Barriers to transgender people accessing Thailand’s healthcare system

Taiwan’s representative in Thailand resigns over sexual harassment allegation

Taiwan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) has confirmed that former Taiwan’s Representative to Thailand, who took up the post of Taiwan’s Representative in Thailand in July 2022, was asked to leave Thailand, after less than a year in the job, following allegations of sexual harassment of his secretary during a trip to Northern Thailand.

School girl overdoses after allegedly being bullied by classmates

A 15-year-old girl, at a school in Thailand’s southern province of Phatthalung, was taken to hospital for treatment for a drug overdose, reportedly as a result of bullying by classmates.

In a tragic event, a man suffering from epilepsy reportedly drowned after falling into a canal during a seizure. The unsettling event occurred in Udon Thani province, in northeast Thailand at a canal in Ban Bo Nam, Moo 7, Mu Mon municipality. The deceased, identified as 41 year old Chokchai Jandabao, was found lifeless in the canal by his wife and neighbours.

Mysterious death in jungle hut prompts investigation in Lampang province

In the early hours of yesterday morning, a tragic discovery was made in the district of Wang Nuea, Lampang province. A 48 year old man’s body was found lifeless in a hut in a dense jungle near the village. His death was mysterious, sparking an urgent response from local rescue workers, police from Wang Nuea station, and on-call physicians from Wang Nuea Hospital.

Former military officer accused of assaulting beer promoter in Nakhon Sawan restaurant

A former military officer has been accused by a 20 year old beer promoter of physically assaulting her in a restaurant in Nakhon Sawan province, northern Thailand. The female worker, Susita Rachakit, who sustained injuries to her face, claims she was slapped and kicked by the man after he accused her of inappropriately touching him. It has been confirmed that legal action has been initiated by the woman, with the events captured on the restaurant’s CCTV on Friday, June 23.

Decapitated body missing hands found floating off Thai islands

A man’s decapitated body, which was also missing its hands, was found floating off of Thailand‘s Koh Phi Phi islands. Krabi Marine Police were alerted to the grim discovery by the staff of Hat Nopparat Thara – Mu Ko Phi Phi National Park on Saturday, according to Matichon.

Global Thai rice export forecast to surpass 8 million tonnes

The appeal for Thai rice continues to be significant globally, with both Indonesia and Bangladesh expressing their aspirations to buy the grain through G2G or government-to-government contracts. Ronnarong Phoolpipat, head of the Foreign Trade Department, stated that the immense global demand for Thai rice is likely to boost exports to surpass 8 million tonnes this year.

RTAF officer tragically dies in a motorcycle accident near Bangkok hospital

In the early morning hours of this morning, a tragic traffic accident claimed the life of a Royal Thai Air Force (RTAF) officer, who was catapulted from his motorcycle after colliding with a median strip barrier near Bhumibol Adulyadej Hospital in Bangkok. On-site inspection revealed severe damage on both the officer’s Honda Click and the concrete barrier. Police are working diligently to review the surrounding surveillance footage for further insight into the circumstances leading to the fatal incident.
