Verbal abuse of Singaporean tourist leads to Phuket van driver being fined 1,000 baht

In a show of justice for tourists in Phuket, a 47 year old van driver who verbally abused a tourist last Sunday has been legally reprimanded. The driver was imposed with a fine of 1,000 baht by the local court for frightening others with the use of threat (intimidation).

Mpox Cases Rose Last Month With Majority Being In Bangkok

THE GOVERNMENT issued a warning for people to protect themselves by avoiding risky behaviour as the number of mpox (monkeypox) cases jumped to 48 last month with 38 patients being in Bangkok, Naewna newspaper said Wednesday (July 5).

Illegal Taxi Gang Accused of Misusing Public Space in Khon Kaen

In an incident which has caused friction, an illegal taxi gang has been discovered allegedly commandeering public space in front of a major shop in Khon Kaen Municipality. The group, around 50 years old, had set up cones to prevent public vehicles from entering, claiming it was solely for taxi use.

Bangkok’s Green Line railway debt passed onto incoming government

Citing a Government House authority, it was disclosed yesterday that the existing cabinet has chosen to pass the responsibility of resolving the debt affiliated with the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration’s (BMA) contract with Bangkok Mass Transit System Plc (BTSC) onto the incoming government.
