Translation Of 'kee' Phrases

Featured Replies

Please could someone provide a translation of the following.

Kee dar - context being the telling off of a child or overly strict ? i think !

Kee heurng - context being overly jealous or possessive towards a partner.

As there are numerous usages of the kee word in phrases and speech perhaps other common or favorite

examples could be listed on this thread

Thanks in advance

kee neow - cheap

kee giat - lazy

kee mao - always drunk

then dont forget kee nok, kee kwai etc etc. all the shit ones

sorry if things seem off or wrong, i hate writing the thai language in romanized form...

nice! ! thanks

Thai South uses kii alot instead of go

so kii hok is lying (to lie--make up)

kii klahn is lazy

you're quoting two different Kii's there

one Kii...means waste...such as kii taa, kii jamuck

the other is kii....meaning 'inclined to...' such as kii daa.....inclined to scold; kii niaw...inclined to be stingy; kii bon....inclined to complain; kii mao...inclined to get drunk

you're quoting two different Kii's there

Yes, but it is the same word in the sense that is spelled and pronounced exactly the same. So it is a matter of usage as to which meaning applies.

One is a Noun, the other is an Adjective but exactly the asme spelling in Thai.

Great Tywais, thanks. Ranks as one of the best pieces of advice I've had on here.

One I didn't see on the list, my wife likes to use 'men kee' to describe our daughter's diapers. Stinky s***... :o

kee jew = smegma

:D:o

:D:D ....... :o

May I suggest an old Lao word (phrase) use for ashtray.

Its "neo sai kii cork yaa" or thing to use for the sh"t of the cigarette.

One of my favorite Thai sayings is; กําขี้ดีกว่ากําตด and it is also my signature on TV. It means, 'something is better than nothing' or more literally 'shitting is better than farting'.

or...

ทำขี้ไม่ดีกินขี้ดีกว่า

May I correct " kee jamoog " .. the correct is kee-moog ขี้มูก
