Jomtien extension of visa currently

Recommended Posts

I have got conflicting information on when I need to go and extend my tourist visa.  Some say 2 weeks prior,  others say within a week of expiry.  What is the right answer? I am asking here because it is specific to Jomtien office only, thank you.

I'm due my next (1 year) extension  24th September  and i will do, like i have done for the last 19 years, and go to  Jomtien  Immigration  24th August and it's  never been a problem .. BUT  i always  check a few days before what documents are needed incase of unknown changes, and I follow the list to the letter,  but  on due date it seems I'm always  short of a couple of documents, I make this known to the officer, and his reply is  ....  "never mind" !!!

If a 2 week prior extension will still be enough to cover your holiday, why not go 2 weeks prior? Or even 10 days prior? Never wait till the last days to get things done, plus make sure there's no Thai government holidays coming up during your time in question.

I want and need the full 30 days extension on top of what I have been allocated with, so I better go in the final week.

Jomtien asks you to submit the application for the 30 days extension of stay during the last week of your current stamped ending date. Be sure you have a TM30 on file. They require it.

It is called an Extension exactly because it is 30 days tagged ono the end date of current permission.

I stay right near there and this past January, my friend visited and stopped in to ask.  They said no more than 2 weeks.  He went in 14 days before / in / out / easy!

Did the extension today. My apartment gave me a lot of paperwork just in case. Took about an hour on my own. Needed a photo, copy of visa and current entry stamp full pages, bio pages of passport TM30 from apartment and they handed me a form to fill in. I did it on my last week and 30 days extension granted. Thanks for all the comments.
