Prime Minister Prayut has announced his retirement from politics, nine years after he took power in a coup as army chief in 2014. He will leave the United Thai Nation party, but will however continue as caretaker PM  until a new government is formed.

 

Three out of 4 suspects have been arrested in connection with the gruesome murder of a German property broker whose dismembered body was found in a freezer in Chonburi yesterday.


They include Olaf Brinkmann, Petra Grund-greif, a Pakistan national Shah-rukh Uddin, and someone called Enriko who had 2 million baht transferred to his account from the account of the deceased.

 

Internet connections along border areas between Thailand and Myanmar will be cut in order to reduce the number of online scam call centers that have employed many Thai citizens in poor working conditions,  the centers persuaded many people into investing in non-existent financial schemes. The switch off will involve some 173 mobile internet towers.

 

The department of employment says The number of people duped by illegal job brokers to work overseas has seen a sharp increase during the past eight months,  


The department says at least 470 people were conned out of almost 33   million baht paid to illegal overseas job recruitment agencies for non existent jobs.
