Move Forward party leader Pita Limjaroenrat claimed today (Wednesday) that he has been unfairly treated by the Election Commission (EC), with its decision to submit the iTV share case to the Constitutional Court for consideration, without giving him a chance to defend himself.

 

In reacting to the EC’s decision, which came one day ahead of the selection of the prime minister in parliament tomorrow, Pita said he understands the intention of the law, which prohibits politicians using the media with a political agenda. He noted that the iTV channel ceased operating a long time ago and the media company has not earned any revenue from the TV channel.

 

“There is no way for me to benefit from a media entity which ceased operations about 17 years ago,” said Pita, as he pointed out the commission’s submission of his case to the Charter Court after considering it for about 32 days, which seems hasty when compared to a similar case against the cabinet, for which the EC took 386 days.

Pita, you are obviously too young for the trough, there are restless, old dinosaurs who will go to any lengths to get a tilt at controlling that trough! The greedy will prevail!????????????????????????????????????

I truely hope this action exposes & brings down the EC - Power to the people instead of the Generals .............!!!

Those who organize street protests will probably be busy "organizing", in view of this development.

Watch out they are not familiar with that kind of common sense/ Logic....you will surely confuse them ????

 

 

I think the EC commissioners will soon be out of work, and looking at being charged, hopefully imprisoned  sending a very strong message to all other government departments.

There were rumblings of discontent yesterday in the Wife's shop,(no, not over Her prices...????). There is usually a bit of moaning over a beer in the evening, but this time She said they were well p***ed off. Mind you, around here it is a wide canyon from talking to action.

A logical analysis would consider  who would be harmed by an EC ruling banning the MFP (Cow Gy) party, and the answer is "peoples democracy" since valid elections are the basis of democracy.

Didn't they do the same thing at the last so called democratic election. bringing up something that they knew about long before the elections took place because they didn't like the outcome?

Yes.

 

They banned one (opposition) party which was doing well in the polls shortly before the election.

 

They pulled the same stunt over media shares with the leader of Future Forward ( Move Forward's forerunner) when they did well in that election, banning him from politics for 10 years, and then came up with some reason to dissolve the party.

 

All about corruption and cronyism apparently - if I remember it was shortly after Prayut had appointed his brother to the Senate, and given a very lucrative contract to supply the Army to his nephew!

if thannathorn funded this it would actually be possible for once. it might break him and his family but it would possibly free this nation. 

 

it is the only way. 10 to 20 million people camped out in the streets of bkk refusing to leave.....until they do. 

 

i highly doubt the army will resort to violence this time as you will be live streamed on the internet for all to see. 

 

won't look good at all shooting people who are trying to defend their vote.

That sounds exactly the same as my wife's shop. but I think this time there will be action. even the day after the election i asked her ''what if Prayuth won't go"  ''We go Bangkok, we have bus''  Bliss a few days alone.  or longer <me lol.

Move Forward has already shown their weakness in the House Speaker position.  They will be moving backwards from here on.

France and other countries, yes. Thai people are too peaceful. Kind of like the Jewish people were too peacefully minded to fight back against you know who. Peaceful protest does not work. Police and military will push back with easy violence and it won't escalate past a certain level. Good in one way. Less death. 

And Pita has every right to complain about this massively corrupt and partial EC. This latest stunt of theirs demonstrates that. It is bizarre at best, and at worst shows a determination to prevent the youth from having any influence in Thai society.

 

Surely they could have done this earlier, to prevent the interruption of the voting the entire nation has been waiting for, on the 13th. The EC, the toxic, army appointed senators, the army itself, and the elite had better watch out. If they mess with the will of the people this time, all bets are off.

If you replace the Generals with Oligarchs it is still not power to the people...

While I mostly agree I don't see anything that indicates corruption. If you place the right people at the right place they do it because they believe in it. No need to pay them.
