On July 12, 2023, Mr. Wichai Chaiyamongkol, the Secretary of the Drug Suppression Committee, confirmed the arrest of Senior Sergeant Major Daab, a Chiang Rai Border Patrol Police officer, for alleged involvement in trafficking ketamine to Bangkok.

The arrest followed a successful investigation revealing illicit drugs sent via a private courier service from Chiang Rai to Bangkok under a false name, reported Thai Rath.

The apprehension of the suspect was executed around 6 PM by a combined police and military team in Chiang Rai. Despite a search of the officer's residence, no additional contraband was found.

The case will now proceed under the due process of the law, highlighting a commitment to countering serious drug-related crimes, even when suspects are within the ranks of law enforcement.

Another upstanding police officer

Just think how many confiscated drugs find their way back onto the streets.
