The First Fleet, Royal Thai Navy, is conducting a security meeting to discusss terrorism response.

Earlier today (July 11), the Commander of the First Fleet, Royal Thai Navy, Vice Admiral Chanong Kittipeerachol (จำนงค์ กิตติพีรชล) revealed that naval officers are hosting a meeting to develop a proper response to terrorism threats. The meeting resulted in the establishment of the First Fleet National Security Strategic policies for 2007-2011. Vice Admiral Chanong said that local provinces, especially border provinces, require close attention in handling terrorism incidents, as the effects on provincial economy, society , and tourism will be quite severe.

Representatives from the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration, Chantha Buri, Chachoengsao, Chon Buri, Rayong, Trat, Chumporn, and other provinces were in attendance. Officials from the Ministry of Interior and the National Economic and Social Development Board were also present.
