A claim by Thai Sang Thai’s secretary general that Bhumjaithai called Move Forward and asked to join Move Forward’s coalition is untrue, Bhumjaithai spokesman Paradorn Prissananantakul said on Wednesday.

 

He claims to have already asked Bhumjaithai leader Anutin Charnvirakul and secretary general Saksayam Chidchob about what Sita said. Both denied that they called Move Forward and asked to join the government.

 

“We have declared our position, both before and after the general election, that we would not join the government with any party that has a policy to amend the lèse majesté law,” Paradorn said, referring to Move Forward’s policy.

I've just read that PTP have dumped MFP and will form a coalition and I would expect government. They also said they would reform and ammend the constitution and this seems to be in relation to the appointed senators and call a new general election. Interesting politics indeed. Let's see what happens. PTP must show their support base they have not betrayed them. MFP will be opposion but if PTP and MFP vote as a block in the house of reps along with the other coalition partners they will have the numbers to change the constitution and bring about a new election. All PTP parlimentarians would have to cross the floor to vote with the opposition MFP.  Talk about political machernations. It's insane and all because of 250 appointed generals by the coup leadership to entrench their power and override any democratic election result that threatens it.

Don't worry too much about the manipulations / matchernations, it's normal Thai politics and the added advantage is, it keeps the AN keyboard warriors occupied ????

I don't get how, with just 3% of the vote, BJT won 14% (71) of the seats. I know it's something to do with the Thai system of voting, but how does it end up in such a seemingly skewed way?

Two months on from an election where a record 38 million citizens voted and the transition to a new government is held up because potential minor changes to one law protecting one person are out of the question.

 

Hopelessly silly.
