  • TAT will soon be projecting millions of space aliens visiting Thailand each year.   A 60 day visa called "First Contact" is already planned.

  • Good alien in, bad alien out

  • They'll be needing an immigration office then too!

Dear God what next, sending manned flight to explore the possibility of putting men on the sun! These clowns should have been in Billy Smart's Circus.

GOOD news. Ensure enough space to carry 250 senators and all the other clowns in the political circus, the flour-to-illegal-substance guy, the kiddo who assumingly killed a police officer on duty with a Ferrari for which he could not even afford the window-washer water and all the rest of these sick minds in the oligarch elite which ruins Thailand to the bones.
20 tons of TNT should suffice to get the rocket airborne; no need to fly anywhere as it will be of exquisite quality like most other things "Made in Thailand"; a huge state funeral and a mourning period of, say, 30 seconds.

After that, carry on with business, get the professionals into offices and start repairing Thailand, its economy, tourism and its reputation ????

Ever wonder why there are no UFO sightings or crop circles in Thailand?

Could be their just looking for intelligent life.

The most diligent caretaker government in history. Make the deals, take the kickback, and saddle the next government with billions in debt.

Sub-contractor

Spelling! You mean Hub-contractor????

Hahahahaha

Ah yes, just what Thailand needs, a spaceship.

Hey, how about taking care of all the poor people first before you buy rockets, war planes, etc.

Ridiculous!

The feasibility study should show that building the much vaunted canal across the Isthmus of Kra is a better economic proposition. Apart from commercial shipping the submarines would benefit.????

Lots of bamboo here though.

Thought they already had a spaceport up in Yasothon.

Thai's in space.....What could possibly go wrong?

I can tell you where you can put that feasibility study. They can't control Pattaya's car racing, or traffic laws in general and they expect the world to trust them with space travel?

The scientists aren't in the government, they were dealing with NASA when the US needed to use Thailand for R&R.

Thailand has been involved in satellite remote sensing since the launch of NASA ERTS-1 Programme in 1971 through Thailand Remote Sensing Programme (TRSP) under the National Research Council of Thailand (NRCT). In 1979, TRSP was elevated to become one of the NRCT's division, namely Thailand Remote Sensing Center (TRSC). TRSC serviced and promoted utlization of remote sensing data for management of natural resources and environment in Thailand

In 1982, Thailand Ground Receiving Station was set up as first of its kind in Southeast Asia. Then TRSC became satellite data distributor to users worldwide. The available satellite data are such as LANDSAT, SPOT, NOAA, ERS and MOS.

Perhaps it is better idea to update railroads for newer and faster trains before thinking of "space" projects.

There are surely much more worthy projects to spend money on than "space" projects and Chinese submarines!

Fook in hell.

They cannot even repair the roads let alone go into space.

I guess there is too much spaced out thinking going on with the new ganja laws...

Trying to get SpaceX to set up an operation in Thailand. Kinda curious what would be the benefits of Thailand launch and recovery. If that happened the Chinese would have the place surrounded with spy's. Come to think of it I wouldn't doubt if the Chinese would build the place for the Thai's, I doubt SpaceX or others would fall for that.  The US government would probably step in and nix that before it got started.

With a dictatorship in place in Thailand catering and probably a direct line to China, No one would fall for that. Unless the Chinese wanted to launch from Thailand. Then business as usual.

The feasibility study would consist of,  Xi what do you think of a space port in Thailand.

They could combine the base on the beachfront with a hub for their soon to be expanding submarine fleet!

Not difficult to do, I mean here in NZ we have the worlds 1st privately funded 'space port', basically a commercial rocket launching facility owned by RocketLab.

But what about Thailand's Neighbours and the flight patterns around Thailand? That will be an interesting issue to be addressed. NZ has no neighbours for well over a thousand miles and no one bothers to fly over us as we are the 'boring blobs' at the bottom of the pacific (and long may it remain so).

Lemme save you the trouble - it's NOT feasible at this time.

Just do what you ALWAYS do: wait until someone else builds one then make a cheap copy. Duh!

Well NZ set the example, come copy it.

Considering their complete and utter inability to build decent paths and walkways in Pattaya, I would say this is a complete and utter waste of money and time

Logically why get involved when so far behind .. basically throwing money in a dark hole that could be used for the countries grow and

support of the Thai citizens.. welfare etc.

The government is speeding up a feasibility study into the establishment of a spaceport to capitalize on space-related industries and boost economic gains.

According to Deputy Government Spokesperson Tipanan Sirichana, Prime Minister Gen Prayut Chan-o-cha recently issued an order for relevant agencies to expedite the plan and take advantage of the potential benefits from the growing space business.

The Geo-Informatics and Space Technology Development Agency initiated the study last year and is expected to conclude its research within the next two years. Initial findings revealed that Thailand's strategic geographical location near the equator would support rocket launches, making it a viable candidate for hosting a spaceport.

Thailand possesses two suitable coastal sites, one along the Andaman Sea and the other along the Gulf of Thailand, which could accommodate the construction of a spaceport. The surrounding seas also offer safe landing zones for spacecraft, enhancing their appeal as hubs for space-related activities.

The development of a spaceport is projected to generate substantial revenue from the aerospace industry and foster growth in related sectors, including space tourism. The project is also anticipated to create job opportunities for approximately 400 professionals, such as spacecraft technicians and technicians, electronic engineers, and import inspectors.

By becoming a major player in the space economy within the Asia-Pacific region, Thailand aims to position itself as a prominent contender in the rapidly expanding space industry. The ambitious spaceport plan also represents the nation's determination to drive economic development and solidify its presence in the realm of space technology and exploration.
