Landmark Inquiry: British Committed Genocide Against Indigenous Australians in Victoria
Yes, one would imagine so. Compensation is generally due for victims of a crime, and paid by the criminals. That cannot happen here- both are long dead. If your great-great-great-great-great grandfather did something bad to my great-great-great-great-great grandfather, of course that should be acknowledged. But it doesn't mean that I get compensated for it by "someone", which usually means the government, which means all taxpayers. Even those whose families weren't even in the country at the time. The same situation pops up everywhere that natives demand "justice". It starts with wanting the historical record corrected, which is fine and good. But inevitably, it devolves into a demand for payment. -

Landmark Inquiry: British Committed Genocide Against Indigenous Australians in Victoria
A "truth-telling inquiry" sounds somewhat Orwellian. No doubt the Aussies will eventually go the way of NZ. We've been paying for the alleged sins of our forefathers since 1975 via the Waitangi Tribunal. Billions consequently wasted by the Maori overlords, and a more divisive culture than there ever was before. -

Diddy’s Dark Double Life: Trial Hears Disturbing Allegations of Abuse and Sex Trafficking
He didn't "get away" with racketeering conspiracy. He was never engaged in racketeering, nor was there a conspiracy. That was plain to see from the beginning. That's why I empahtically stated at the beginning that it was clear there was no "racketeering". Given that the Feds have a 95% win rate in these cases and it is unheard for a defendant to beat the Federal government, the magnitude of Coombs' win is hard to overstate. It also goes to show how very poor the case of the Feds really was. This case was full of lies. For instance Cassie Ventura tried to leave the freak off because she had a film premiere the next day and wanted to look presentable, she was not trying to "escape" a freak off when she was assualted in the lobby. She actually enjoyed the freak-offs. The federal prosecutors got it badly wrong when they tried to pin racketeering charges on Coombs. He was never charged with domestic assasult, so the lobby attack was not punished at all. Now it's up to the judge as he'll decide sentencing on the two trafficking for prostitution charges. Those too are trumped up really, as Coombs did not traffic Ventura or anyone else for prostitution, but engaged in conensual sex parties. But anyway, the judge could give him anything from probation to 20 years. In reality most likely Coombs will get anything from 2 to 8 years I suspect, depending on how the judge sees it. Either way Coombs made the right call not to take the plea-bargain. Which was not easy to do, given that the Feds have a 95% win rate in these cases and unlimited resources.
