Valid Reasons For Tourist Visa Extension..

Featured Replies

I don't know if they even read that part of the extension application. Last time I wrote that I would be going back to the U.S. for a Non-Imm B and needed a little more time in Thailand to solidify my plans. Well .. things didn't go as expected, I got another Tourist Visa from Vientiane, and now I need to extend it.

What are the normal reasons people give for these things? And does it even matter?

Thanks.

Back when I was on tourist visas, I never put a real reason. I just wrote something like "I would like to extend my stay in Thailand for 30 days". Never had any questions asked.

What Rainman says, or simply "tourism

The single biggest problem in communication is the illusion that it has taken place

When I left it blank, they asked me to give a reason. So I wrote: 'I would like ti stay until ..., because my flight back is on that day' That was OK.

I'm with Maestro on this. Have always put "tourism" and never had a problem. It would seem fairly self-evident when applying for an extension of a TV, but I guess the question is there to catch a change in circumstances or even the odd idiot who says "actually, I just got a fantastic job down on Sukhumvit, thank's very much for asking!"

I always say exactly what thedi mentioned
