mountainman Posted July 13, 2007 Posted July 13, 2007 Greetings! I've got a double entry tourist visa so must do a visa run after the first 60 days. (End of July). How long must I stay out of Thailand before I return? I'm on a UK passport, do I need a visa to enter Laos/Cambodia/Malaysia...etc. or do I get a visa on entry. (30 Days?) Was thinking of just travelling by car and staying in a hotel in one of the bordering countries for a day and then returning. What's the cheapest option? Thanks in advance for any advice. Brian.

Brian. brian dont quote me on this as 100% but ive a feeling you can top up first at a imigration office,(30 day extention) the pattaya one is jontiem soi 5, and there all over thailand, im sure thell be a list at the top of this thread pinned. so you might not have to go out just yet, give them a ring or call in very helpfull. now if i was wrong, theres lots of visa shops all over that will take you to border mate, they very good help you fill in paperwork etc and not a lot of money! maybe 2500 or less. a good one is outside of the sportsman pub on soi 13, in pattaya. hope this helps if not let us know mate!
Lite Beer Posted July 13, 2007 Posted July 13, 2007 You only have to stay out of the country for 1 minute unless you want to stay awhile and look around. You do not say where you are now.
lopburi3 Posted July 13, 2007 Posted July 13, 2007 You can extend a 60 day stay to 90 days at any immigration office by filling out a TM.7 form, attaching a 4x6cm photo and paying 1,900 baht. But if you do not plan to be here longer than 120 days there would be no need to do this. You need a visa to enter Laos or Cambodia but they are available at the border. Money and photos required.
sjaak327 Posted July 13, 2007 Posted July 13, 2007 Malaysia is visa exempt. 90 days for UK passports free of charge. Visa fee for Laos is 1500 baht, 1000 baht for Cambodia.
torrenova Posted July 13, 2007 Posted July 13, 2007 Cambodia Visa is USD 20 but they will try and get you to part with Bt1000 unless you have the right USD money. Go with an agent (Witherspons in Soi Buakhow in Pattaya is a good one) for Bt2400 and you'll be fine. You can get a 30 day extension at the immigration for Bt1900. useful if you are staying less than 90 days.
mountainman Posted July 17, 2007 Author Posted July 17, 2007 Thanks! That's cleared things up for me. :-) Brian.
