Scouse123
Hi, One of our bikes was registered in Pattaya years ago and was borrowed by the brother, also many years ago who works in Bangkok. He has returned the bike to us in Isaarn, with of course three or four years unpaid road taxes and in desperate need of a service which has now been done. He now has his own pickup, so doesn't need it! We have been advised we must now first transfer the bike from Pattaya to Kalasin and clear the back road taxes. We will then be given a new plate for Kalasin, a new book with new bike number and a road tax disc. We have today paid to the local office 3,000 baht for this ' service ' and it will be sorted next week. We have a Filipina lady renting a house from us. She has a work permit for Thailand. She now wishes to purchase this second hand motorbike from us. We have been told by the local office it must be step by step, first move the bike address up here which is in my other half's name, then agree a transfer of ownership. Is it then fairly easy to transfer the bike to the Filipina lady seeing as she has a full rental agreement on one of our properties and a work permit?

Dawesy
Why not just pay the outstanding tax and if the Filipino lady pays for it transfer directly into her name.

Yeah I wanted to do that. The outstanding tax is already paid However, local officials won't transfer the bike to her, until it has been transferred and end registered in Kalasin. It seems bloody long winded Edited September 2, 2023 by Scouse123
