Long term (10 years) saving account.

Featured Replies

As part of investment diversification I'm interested in a long term, 5-10 years, Thai savings account for monthly deposits.

What long term saving accounts are out there and what are they offering at the moment?

TIA.

I don't have your answer, but you may want to specify whether it has to qualify to hold your 400/800K immigration moolah.

Don't be surprise when you come back in 10 years and they don't who you are. Then when get upset they will call the police and have arrested for causing a disturbance and offending a Thai national.

Did it happen to you?

(1) To get the best rates of interest you need to lock up the money for a number of years.  You can't pay into an account monthly.

(2) A compromise might be something like Krung Sri Bank's Mee Tae Dai account which has limited withdrawals, but allows frequent deposits and pays a higher rate of interest than a savings account.  Other banks have similar products.

(3) Why are you doing this? By keeping your money in cash you won't be getting enough interest to even cover the cost of inflation.
