October 5, 20232 yr Last time I used a foreigen debit card in Thailand, I seem to remember being charged 180 baht. What is the current rate? Are there any banks that don't charge?

October 5, 20232 yr Aeon ATMs are still charging 150 baht. There used to be 3 in Pattaya, now there's only one at Lotus's North Pattaya Mall. Unless you live nearby, it's not worth travelling there to save 70 baht.
October 5, 20232 yr Popular Post It is my understanding all Thai banks charge the ATM fee. Some foreign institutions, such as Charles Schwab will reimburse you for any ATM fees. I have also read you can do a counter-withdrawal inside the bank but have no direct experience with that. cheers

OK, it was a simple, honest question, so your reasons remain unknown, to both A Now and the Spanish. Edited October 5, 20232 yr by KannikaP

October 5, 20232 yr I withdraw at the counter but make sure that it's well over B30,000. so that they can't redirect me to the ATM. No fees from the bank or my card provider back home and the standard decent MasterCard ForEx rate. It does show as a financial transaction on my statement but is not subject to a daily cash limit, just my overall credit limit. Edited October 5, 20232 yr by London Lowf

"No one ever expects the Spanish Inquisition." "Last time I used a foreigen debit card in Thailand" As has been said Charles Schwab reimburses all fees charged when using their debit card. Total charges are added up and reimbursed once a month.
