Football players from all over the province will be travelling to Hua Hin to compete in the Orchid Palm Homes Cup VIII on October 29th. Six teams have signed up with clubs making the journey from Pranburi, Bang Saphan and Thap Sakae.

The six a side tournament is set for the Black Mountain Hua Hin Football Academy and will be for Under 11 teams. This will be the eighth edition of the biannual Orchid Palm Homes Cup which was founded in 2020.

Remarkably the seven previous editions of this competition have produced seven different winners. No academy has ever won the Orchid Palm Homes Cup more than once.

PP United and Black Mountain will be looking to become the first teams to ever win the tournament twice. The latter finished victorious at the Orchid Palm Homes Cup VII which took place at the Hua Hin International School in February.

Joining them will be PTG Academy from Hua Hin, Choksapap from Pranburi, Wat Nalom from Thap Sakae and Baby Tigers from Bang Saphan. Black Mountain Hua Hin Football Academy head coach Gary Stevens is delighted to see teams travelling from so far to participate,

“Since the junior leagues at True Arena stopped there have been limited opportunities for local footballers to compete. The fact that academies are willing to make a four hour round trip to play goes to show just how important these tournaments are to the players, parents and coaches.”

Orchid Palm Homes owner Stephen Ayling is proud to be supporting tournament which is now in its fourth year, “We seem to get new teams signing up for this tournament every year and I am excited to see some of the players from Bang Saphan and Thap Sakae for the first time. Orchid Palm Homes is committed to supporting grass roots football in Hua Hin.”
