webfact
Pattaya was reeling from torrential rains that caused widespread flooding, leading to vehicular damages as cars attempted to navigate the waterlogged streets. The situation was swiftly addressed by the authorities who conducted a thorough inspection. Soon after, the water level gradually receded and normalcy was restored around 12.20am today. The deluge was reported in the Bang Lamung district of Chon Buri province, where heavy rain fell continuously for over an hour. This resulted in flooding in several areas, with water levels in some parts rising between 50 and 80 centimetres. The Thailand Meteorological Department issued its tenth warning, notifying the public of the storm “Koinu,” which had weakened into a depression. Today’s weather conditions still promise a 60-80% chance of rain in the northern and central regions, including Bangkok and its vicinity. Among the affected areas were those alongside the railway line from Khao Talu Soi to Wat Dhamma Soi, the front of the old railway station on Sukhumvit Road, and the Sam Line intersection at Mum Aroi. The flooding rendered small cars and motorcycles unable to traverse these routes. by Jimmy Donovan7 seconds ago Photo: by hitesh choudhary, on Pexels. Popular Post thaibeachlovers
Those Pattaya authorities just don't seem capable of fixing that flooding problem. Could it be because the money to fix it ends up elsewhere? 2 1

Popular Post jvs
This has happened and will happen every year, not easy to drain water if it is nearly the same level as the sea. 4
retarius
God what a horrible hole Pattaya is. I remember my first time there around this time of year 20 or so years ago. Poop oozing out of the sewer along with the rats on Soi Buakaew.....revolting. It still does it now, despite all the supposed attempts to stop it (at vast expense). What happens to all the money allocated to the flood preventions schemes? The money seems to be ineffective in getting any sort of result. I'll wait until the dry season before I go back. 1 2 2

Graemej100
Why is it "vehicular" damage. Doesn't simple "vehicle" damage suffice? Or has americanisms (note the deliberate absence of a capital) taken over from English?
bang saen guy
They spend millions every year and no improvement. Why not hire a couple of Dutch engineers? Piece of cake considering how they can move water
