New Police Hairstyle Regulations on the Horizon

Featured Replies

Suggested by police officers in the field. Camouflage to blend in with people is a good idea. Otherwise here comes the cops, hide the cash. Is he a police officer who just took some money from that shop?

The country that is obsessed with everyone (e.g. police, students) having the same haircut, but unable to standardise visa requirements at their provincial Immigration offices...

  • so a bald dude has no chance of becoming a policeman

  • Professional appearance as opposed to being professional?

Fine.

What about the men?

Undercover officers, RTP or ISOC were exempted from the haircut regulations.

...but not from wearing bots, a black T shirt, windcheater and shoulder holster it seems.

They are civilian peace officers and not military. The purpose of uniform regulations is to enforce good order and discipline but they've proven over the decades that that's not working.

Three sided haircut

Short Back and Sides in my day....and that was for school.

And in early 60s, a Square Neck was allowed, but not by my Mum & Dad. 'you look like one of them Beatles or Rolling Stoners' they would argue. I went on to be a pro muso for 50 years!

The keyboard warrior who has to bash the country of which he is a guest at every possible opportunity.

Is his nibs okay with this? I thought he was all for the police and military buz cuts.

The proposed changes are expected to allow for more flexible grooming, with longer hair permitted at the top, while maintaining a professional appearance.

So new, improved haircuts on the way, new, improved uniforms on the way, but nothing on the way for new, improved actual police work being done.  I'm going to call total bull on the following, which I am shocked and awed that anyone could have uttered with a straight face:

The adjustments are seen not just as a mere change in grooming standards but a step forward in enhancing the adaptability and responsiveness of the Thai police force amidst diverse and dynamic challenges.

It's called Reforming The Police.????

Amazing to to think they got it wrong all those years.  So many more crimes could have been solved if the new modernized hairstyle was enforced earlier.

A bit more material in those shirts wouldn't go amiss. Or do they purposely order a size smaller as a fashion statement?

The proverbial Thai paradox and it's offshoots.

Is there a lack of news in Thailand at the moment?  Police hairstyles are news?

Oh dear, I though that was restricted to monks :whistling:

Reason du Jour:

Change in crew haircut rule aimed at protecting police working in deep South

There's always more to the story, no clue what it might be with this one?

Give them all a Mohawk cut, that should make them happy.

Wlll they continue to have those over tight uniforms that make them look skinny ?

How about banning those bribes required to get a posting or a career progress ?

How about rewarding honesty rather then enforcing bribery ?

To those taking the Mickey out of the police. This is a change in regulation that has been seized upon and blown out of proportion by the media. It's no big deal. The police are just moving forward to a less military style. Probably allowed because a civil government rather than a military Junta is in charge now.

More important things to concentrate on don't you think.

Oh look, it's the long awaited police reform!

They're starting with the BIG stuff, and then working their way down the list of priorities...

Next up... what color paper towels to use in station bathrooms -- regular white or neutral beige...
