In power for less than two months, the government of Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin has already run into legal issues that could potentially land the PM and his Cabinet members in jail.

 

Petitioners recently filed complaints against Srettha over last month’s appointment of a new national police chief. Srettha nominated Pol General Torsak Sukvimol for the job despite him being the least senior among the four candidates – a move which critics claimed violated the law, regulations, and ethical standards.

 

The legal trouble has placed another man in the public spotlight.

How about investigating Prayuth? I doubt the man is clean. Who knows what crimes the army got away with during those "9 lost years"?

Well connected politicians in Thailand have no fear of the law.it takes years to convict them and if found guilty they are allowed to keep the money they stole and abscond to live in luxury in a nearby county until the statute of limitations has expired.

Maybe but surely being least senior means nothing... 

His police history and achievements should come first?

If he deserves the position on merit then so be it.

If not then questions should be asked.

PM job description should come with Warning Label…. Anything you do might be used against you…end up in the clink….
