On October 24th, 2023, at 7:30 PM, at the central rehabilitation prison, Ms. Supapen Worarotcharoenjaroen, mother of Mr. Akarakit Worarotcharoenjaroen, also known as "Benz Racing", and friends welcomed him home.

 

Benz Racing had been imprisoned for over 4 years on money laundering charges. The case accusing him of drug trafficking was dropped. Upon release, he appeared in high spirits, wearing a light pink long-sleeved shirt, jeans, and hugged his mother in front of the media, reported INN.

 

Mr. Akarakit commented on the struggles over the past 6 years, both financially and reputationally. Despite the challenges, he held hope for victory and eventual bail.

He lamented lost time, missing out on raising his only son, unable to teach him simple life skills like calling him "Dad" or riding a bicycle. As for possible compensation and potential lawsuits against officials, he remains undecided.

 

Mr. Akarakit hasn’t allowed his son to visit him in prison to shield him from such memories. He looks forward to spending quality time with his family and readjusting to life. His mother, Ms. Supapen, confessed her overwhelming emotions and relief at her son's release, to the extent of forgetting to eat all day.

The article is very unclear.

I don't know whether he has been released after serving his time or if charges have been dropped and what charges, drug dealing or money laundering.
