The government yesterday rejected requests for a re-evaluation of its plan to proceed with the 10,000-baht digital giveaway scheme, the deputy prime minister said:  the  project could be modified and refined.

A recent study by the Fiscal Policy Research Institute shows the digital handout scheme could significantly boost Thailand’s GDP, which has been stagnant since the 2014 coup.

Rescuers yesterday spent hours searching for the bodies of two Myanmar women who fell into an irrigation canal in Ratchaburi Province. One woman aged  30, slipped into the canal while trying to retrieve her bag, her niece aged 18, also drowned trying to help her. Rescuers eventually recovered the body of the 30 year old, the 18 year old was still missing.

 

Police in Hua Hin, questioned a 23-year-old woodcutter, regarding the murder of his  6-year-old son,  Mr Nattapon admitted disposing of the body in a sugar cane field in Soi Nong Khra, just west of Hua Hin by pass last Friday,.  The child's body was eventually found yesterday. The incident has shocked the local community.
