Serious air pollution forecast in and around Bangkok this weekend

The Pollution Control Department has warned residents of Bangkok and its suburbs that, from Friday to Sunday, air quality, especially in eastern Bangkok and southern Thon Buri, is likely to deteriorate to Orange Level, meaning it could have an impact on health.

The department explained that the anticipated poor air quality is due to a combination of reduced rainfall and the cold front looming over Thailand, resulting in poor air circulation and an accumulation of PM2.5 dust in the atmosphere.

People living in Bangkok, Samut Prakan, Samut Sakhon, Nakhon Pathom, Pathum Thani and Nonthaburi are advised to protect their health, check air quality before leaving home, to avoid burning of waste in open spaces and use public transport to reduce exhaust emissions.

The public urges government assistance in tackling air pollution. If you goons were not bought and paid for by big agra, the burning would stop. It is your compromised nature and your unwillingness to put up a good fight, that is the major cause of the air apocalypse we are facing.

People are dying and suffering in hospitals on your watch, and their blood is on your hands. You are cowards. You are incompetents. You deserve to be ousted with a vengeance.

How Chiang Mai became the world’s most polluted city-

At least one NGO is calling it what it is. Field burning, not forest fires is the main cause of bad air here.

Looks like the governor is not doing much to get to the real issue of pollution, just quick fixes to look good.

It just seems to keep getting worse year after year.

Right now, I know it's not Friday yet, Bangkok is 65 and Chiang Mai 40 US AQI's.
